Alan Herman

Trustee


Alan Herman is the National Director of Advancement of the Israel Cancer Research Fund (ICRF) the largest non-government funder of cancer research in Israel. Alan is responsible for overseeing all U.S. fundraising including developing and managing key relationships with board members, donors, and strategic partners. Prior to joining ICRF, Alan worked as a Synagogue Executive Director, most recently at Congregation Beth Elohim, a nationally recognized Reform Synagogue in Park Slope Brooklyn. Prior to pivoting to the not-for-profit world (which was largely influenced by his involvement with Central), he held various executive level positions with Bentex Group, a leading manufacturer of licensed consumer products, as well as ran a wholesale distribution business for over twenty years of which he was one of the founders. Alan and his wife Miriam have been members of Central for over 15 years along with their daughter Noa. Over the years Alan has been involved in various Central programs and initiatives including leading the Breakfast Program, The Ronald McDonald House Project, an active member of the initial Core Team / Listening Campaign and the “No One is a Stranger at Central” project.
