David B. Edelson

Honorary President


David Edelson is a managing director on the North American Private Equity teamat Bain Capital. David served as senior vice president and chief financial officer of Loews Corporation until mid-2022. Prior to joining Loews in 2005, David was executive vice president & corporate treasurer at J.P. Morgan Chase. David serves as a director of AutoNation, Inc.

David earned an M.B.A. from the Stanford University Graduate School of Business in 1985 and received an A.B. from Dartmouth College in 1981.

David and his wife Cindy have been members of Central Synagogue since 1999. They have three children – Charlotte, Annabel, and Oliver – all of whom have flown the coop. David became a Central trustee in 2004, served as an officer from 2006-2009, and as president from 2012-2015.

David currently serves as chair of the board of governors of HUC-JIR and an ex officio member of the URJ executive board. He is the immediate past president of the board of trustees of the Jewish Board of Family & Children’s Services, and a board member of UJA-Federation of New York. At Dartmouth, David serves on the board of visitors of The John Sloan Dickey Center for International Understanding.
