Merissa Hochberg is the Director of the Lese Center for Living Judaism, Central's pre-K–12th grade religious school, and oversees programming, staffing, communication, and student recruitment for the LCLJ, while also serving as the primary point person for LCLJ families. She also works closely with members of the Youth and Family Engagement Department.

Merissa lived and worked in Boston, where she gained years of experience working with children and families, as well as supporting and providing professional development for teachers and staff for 10 years as a school psychologist before joining the Central Synagogue team. Merissa graduated from Binghamton University in 2007 with a bachelor’s of science in human development, and later earned a master’s degree in psychology and a CAGS in school psychology from Northeastern University in 2010. While in graduate school and during her early career, Merissa worked as a religious school teacher, United Synagogue Youth advisor, and Family Education Administrator at Temple Emanuel in Newton, Massachusetts.

Growing up, Merissa attended Reuben Gittelman Hebrew Day School in New City, New York, and attended Young Judaea camps Sprout Lake and Tel Yehuda where her love for Judaism blossomed. Merissa enjoys spending time with friends and family, rooting for the Red Sox, and exploring New York City.
